We had previously experimented with organic gardening, but the immensely high temperatures of a Cyprus summer meant that it was far too hot for most produce to flourish in the summer months, not to mention the issue surrounding limited water supply.
So we looked into alternative methods of farming when we came across an article about hydroponic farming using upcycled refrigerated containers. We instantly knew this was the answer to Cyprus’ weather conditions. We researched this new technique of farming and found we could save 95% of water when compared to traditional farming methods as well as by using a controlled environment we eliminate the need for using pesticides.
By controlling the environment we are able to provide consistent quality 365 days a year. We grow a variety of leafy greens, herbs, edible flowers and microgreens all harvested and packed in the 40ft container without the use of soil. All our products are delivered within hours to the surrounding areas creating a hyperlocal product . This in turn provides our customers with a product that is clean, beyond organic and nutrient dense.
