Even if we stop using fossil fuels and we don’t change our diets, we will still not be able to control climate change adequately. The biggest problem with our diets is the large consumption of red meat and other animal source protein, which is produced in industrial means, very inefficiently and generating large amounts of greenhouse gas.
Fortunately, the traditional Mediterranean diet is sustainable -it has rather modest amounts of meat and dairy foods and is focused on plant sources of foods. If the whole world followed that diet, we could do much to limit climate change.
